Bio:
f@ntum came onto the scene in 1984 with his breakout hit Gary. His interesting take on electronic music was favored by many underground club attendees. Many, however, were quite taken back by his look. By todays standards his costume is not that unusual, but for an artist to play music in his typical gas mask attire back then was very unheard of. His presence in general was very unknown due to the fact that he never spoke to anyone. Very few people in the world aside from his family, assuming he has one, have heard his voice. He had a steady career up until 1989 when he had his infamous meltdown playing a set in
New York setting half of his body on fire in a pyrotechnics accident. After that night, he disappeared for close to two decades. No one really knows where exactly he went or what happened. The true tragedy is that most of his music has been lost for some reason or another. Only a few of his tracks still remain to this day and anyone who can find a mix tape from 1984 should consider it a treasure. As of 2010, f@ntum has finally returned and is working on his new album coming out in the near future. What he did in this time is a mystery to all and remains to be uncovered.
